The Overlapping Cricket Events

Next year some major cricket events are likely to clash with each others like the second edition of the Champions League Twenty20 cricket tournament which will overlap with incoming year's rescheduled Champions Trophy.
The Twenty20 event is scheduled to start from 25 September and end up on 11 October 2009.  These are the dates when ICC-sanctioned Champions League would be being played.

The 2008 Champions Trophy was rescheduled after long discussion and put over to next year. The reason was security concerns in Pakistan.
Dates for the Champions Trophy could be settled on Tuesday. It would be finalized by an executive committee meeting of the ICC. The inaugural Champions League was shifted to December because it had earlier overlapped with the Trophy.

This year's tournament will have the two top squads of the domestic contest in India, South Africa and Australia. The remaining to teams will be English Twenty20 Cup champions Middlesex and a squad from Pakistan. All of these teams will be combating for £3m.

The 2009 tournament will be having 12 squads. The number of matches is also increased to 23 matches. The thought for the Champions League was originated by the cricket authorities of England, India, South Africa and Australia.
