Sanath Jayasuriya: No intention to retire after touching 39th year of life

He said that peoples had doubts about his game and often asked questions about him. At that time it needed a strong demonstration from his side to prove his skills; he strived hard, made an effort and proved it. The splendid record build up by his all-rounder play in both one-days and tests is also the big proof. When you see at his record, he has 12,382 runs, 309 wickets in 412 one-day international games and 6,973 runs in 110 tests; that’s all what a cricket player could dream of at the end of his game-life.

Jayasuriya said;
"I love this game and I still feel great after a good performance or seeing the team win,"

Sri Lanka’s former skipper quit the national side in 2006 because of differences between the board and selectors but was quickly persuaded to return. In 2006, some differences mounted between Jayasuriya and the board and selectors group.

As a result of that he quit the national team but not for a long time he was quickly called back. Jayawardene said that the decision is entirely up to Jayasuriya and he had to decide for the reason he is the only who better knows how long he can and will continue his game.

He said;
“But I think he is amazing and it is good to have him in the team. He can still change the game pretty soon”.
