Pakistan Wins The Final Of Tri-Series

Pakistan won the final match of the tri-series by defeating India in a thrilling match. It was a sort of avenge to the earlier defeat of Pakistan by India in match at Dhaka stadium with a big score lead of 140-runs.

Pakistan elected to bat after winning the toss and piled on 315 runs by dropping their three wickets. The viewers enjoyed the two majestic and exciting centuries by Younis Khan and Salman Butt. Younis Khan played with good run-rate and struck 108 runs off 99 deliveries and Salman Butt supported him with his 129 score and remained unbeaten and was retired of hurt.

Skipper Mahindra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh played good and enjoyable half-centuries from Indian side and fought back superbly but fine bowling from Umer Gul kept the Indian team restricted and Pakistani team in the game till end of the final inning.

Virender Sehwag, Indian opener, from which Indian team was much expecting didn’t stay in ground for a long time and lost his wicket in the early over.

After his dismissal India also lost his other wickets in regular intervals and no one could play a big game. The whole team was bowled out for 290 runs in 48.2 overs. In the previous two matches, Virender Sehwag played a tremendous cricket and gave a good and solid foundation at the start of the game for Indian team, but un-expectedly and unfortunately (for Indian team), he was bowled out at just two runs at the delivery of Sohail Tanvir, when he gave an edge to it at mid-on side; skipper Shoaib Malik was there not to miss a chance.

Despite of this desperate start, Indian fought back and bravely chased the runs; some of its players like Gautam Gambhir (40 runs of just 33 deliveries); Rohit Sharma (24); Yusuf Pathan (25); Suresh Raina (24), tried to change the picture of game but they could not be the substitute of their star players. Yuvraj keep the Indian team in contention with his game; though no player on second side could ally him. He scored a good half century; smashed 56 runs on 59 deliveries.

His game consolidated the Indian very much. The dismissal of Yuvraj was actually the end of the game and it confirmed the match result; but however, Dhoni continuous to play violently creating thrill and liveliness in the game.

The Indian skipper Mahindra Singh Dhoni completed his half century by hitting a huge six off Tanvir’s delivery and taking a couple of runs.

He was the last man from Indian side to drop his wicket at a score of 64; when he tried to hit Shahid Afridi over the top. Umer Gul got four wickets by giving 57 runs in his nine over spell.
