New hopes for Pakistan
From last few months the Pakistani Cricket Team was in
many troubles and problems. It faced ball tempering blame,
Shoib and Mohammad Asif was blamed and proved for prohibit
medicine, and were stopped to participate in International
Cricket for 2 and 1 year respectively. Pakistan played against
West Indies with out these bowlers. Now Pakistan has gone
for tour for South Africa. Once again the team of Pakistan
in problems, its main striker bowler Gul has injured.
But there is not enough bad for Pakistan, the fast bowler
Shoib has been recalled for the tour of South Africa in
first test is being from 11 Jan at Centurion Park. "Shoaib
Akhtar will fly out on the first available flight to South
Africa (SA)," a PCB official. One thing is very strange
thing, firstly Pakistan Selection board refused to join
Shoib as team member but sudden they decided to send Shoib
to SA. For this, there were many voices sounded, among of
them the strained relationship between Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq
and Shoib.
"I don't want to look at the past, I hold no grudges
and whatever has happened in the past is in the past. I
only want to play for my country and perform - that is my
only concern at the moment. I think we can do well there
but a lot will depend on how we do in that first Test."
Shoib told.
"I bowled
21 overs in a domestic game over the last two days and did
pretty well so I think on that level I am okay,"
Shoaib said, referring to Islamabad's match against Abbottabad
in the Quaid-e-Azam trophy, in which his five wickets, including
four for 56 in the first innings, has left his side on the
verge of a thumping innings victory.
About the fitness level of Shoib, “He is ok”
said Nasim Ashraf, the PCB chairman, after seeing his fitness
level of Shoib. One thing about Shoib, he did not play test
cricket from one year. Last test match he played against
India at Karachi.
But this is said to be little hope to Pakistan for the
tour to SA without Muhammad Yosuf, Shoib Malik, and Gul.
Initially it was not thought to be a serious issue, but
Gul is due to see a specialist to shed further light on
the precise nature of the ankle injury. Potentially, say
some sources, it is a serious concern, which could rule
him out for months. Wasim Bari, chief selector, however
has told AFP that Gul has been advised three weeks rest.
