An announcement of Umpires and match referees
For upcoming ODI and Tests series ICC has announced match
referees and umpires today. These series are being played
in South Africa, New Zealand, India, and West Indies.
Most interesting series containing three tests and five
ODIs, is being started tomorrow (Thursday) in Centurion.
For this series ICC has nominated umpires to umpire Steve
Bucknor and Billy Doctrove for the first test match. The
passion of two cricket playing nations will move to Port
Elizabeth for second test match under the umpiring of above
umpires. For third test match, Bucknor and Parker appointed
to umpire the match which will be played from 26-30 Jan
at Cape Town.
For ODI it will be umpired
by Peter Parker and an umpire appointed by the host country
in Centurion. And the second umpire Steve Bucknor will join
with Peter Parker in ODI. Last two ODIs matches will be
umpired with locally umpire and Russell Tiffin.
Another three ODI series is being played between the black
caps and Australia for the Chappell-Haddle Trophy and will
be over umpired by Mike Procter and Aleem Dar. These umpires
have nominated for whole series.
India will play two ODI series against West Indies and
Sri Lanka. These will held in the period of two months Jan
and Feb. Each series will contain eight matches. The West-Indo
series will be overseen by locally umpire and Billy Bowden.
And for Lanka-Indo Series will be umpired.
Before Cricket World Cup 2007 in the West Indies, a tri-nation
ODI series will determine to participate in the world cup.
This series will play among Bermuda, Canada, and Bangladesh
in Antigua. For this series Rudi Koertzen and locally umpire.
