ICL always remained in the news with its new releases. Recently it announced its ninth team. This has been given the name of the Dhaka Warriors; it is announced last week. It consists of 13 players from Bangladesh. Six of them are contracted central. It has also got surprising support from Sri Lanka cricket board.
As you know that, Sri Lankan board removed the domestic ban which it imposed on its six ICL players last week. Marvan Atapattu, who is the former Sri Lanka captain, was also included. The board permitted them to take part in the Premier League tournament this time.
The ICL has been asking the ICC for official acknowledgement of their unauthorized status for many months but not succeeded.
Later on they asked the ICC for a meeting. They also warned about judicial proceeding if ICC didn't agree to the demand. As a result of that the ICC organized a number of meetings of a working group in a meantime. The members of this working group thought at the beginning of this year to work on the legal perspectives of the unofficial league.
One official of ICL said that it is nice decision by ICC that they make their mind to pay close attention to Mr. Chandra’s demand.
That’s the general right of each party that its point of view should be heard. That’s the next step whether others agree upon with him or not.
In this case also further steps will be taken after Mr. Morgan reports back to his board.
An ICC refused to tell more or comment on this matter. This was said in its press release.
